These beads, meticulously arranged by size, are smallest at the nape of the neck and gradually increase towards the front. This creates a lovely round shape that rests along the collarbone. The restoration of this vintage piece distinguishes it as an heirloom.
Rivière translates to river in French, an early 18th century style named in reference to the way that the graduated stones flow across the neck.
We re-strung these vintage turquoise beads with care in our studio, stationed six solid 14k accent beads at the back, and fashioned a hand-wrought clasp of solid 14k gold. This elongated hook design is based on the necklace's original sterling clasp to preserve its vintage integrity while elevating its value.
