Five vintage stone scarabs, in their original settings, reimagined as a statement necklace. We love to revitalize vintage Scarab jewelry in keeping with the beetle’s nature of resurrection.

These five large Scarabs were originally a vintage bracelet. The stones are flanked by two sections of weighty Figaro chain and completed with a hand-wrought clasp. Completely one of a kind.

The stones in this piece are jasper, carnelian, banded agate, chrysoprase, and tigers eye.

Materials

Solid 14k yellow gold and vintage stones. The metals we use are always recycled.

Measurements

16 1/4" long. The stone scarabs measure 21 x 17mm. The Figaro chain measures 4.5mm wide.

Ancient Egyptians revered the scarab beetle for its seemingly magical strength and mysterious life cycle. Khepri, an Egyptian god of the early morning with the head of a scarab, was believed to push the sun into the sky at the dawn of each day and down to the underworld at dusk, a myth likely inspired by observing scarab beetles pushing balls of dung across the sand.

Right: Funerial Heart Scarab of Hatnefer, serpentinite and gold. Upper Egypt ca. 1492–1473 B.C. The Met Collection.
