They are durable and comfortable enough for for 24/7 wear, but can withstand being taken on and off as many times as you'd like. The clicking hinge mechanism is very user-friendly, but has a strong hold, so it won't come undone by itself.
The 10mm and 11mm are a great "huggie" size, while the 14mm is a more classic look. Miki wears all three sizes in her earlobe: 14mm, 11mm, and 10mm. Amelia wears two sizes: 14mm and 11mm.
