Our hand wrought Aegean Charm Necklace recalls the first generations of vibrant ancient life that stirred on the shores of its namesake sea.
The Minoan culture set a precedent affinity for natural symbology that carried throughout Greco-Roman paganism. Nearly all of the early art forms in this region were depictions of flora and fauna, steeped in mythos. In later generations, early metal workers crafted these images in golden forms as an evocation of powerful natural forces. The Phia, Pisces and Anthoscharms function similarly in our design, with the addition of a Baroque coin pearl.
Composed of hand-wrought gold vermeil chain, gold vermeil charms and a Baroque pearl droplet.
We love baroque pearls because they are beautifully and naturally asymmetrical. This also means that they are each unique in their color, shape, and size. In creating each necklace, we are conscious to maintain visual continuity in form and size.
