Our Relic ring takes inspiration from ancient Greco-Roman rings that supported large oval cabochons atop a flared signet shape. Puzzling out how to achieve this bolder look with a modern cut diamond, we arrived at a button back setting with a stepped bezel. 

The shank becomes a flared pedestal shape on each side of the diamond, with collars that are viewed askance at certain angles, continuing the ripple effect of the setting. The band is wide towards the top of the ring, narrows at the sides of the finger, and becomes wider again at the inside of the hand for balance.

Satin finish and polished highlights. This ring is a size 3.5, ideal for an engagement piece on a smaller hand or a cocktail pinky ring. It could be sized up to a 4 for a fee. We can recreate this design with different elongated cuts and other modifications.
